Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in News

PowerID Ltd., an Israeli provider of battery-assisted passive (BAP) RFID technology, has released new versions of two of its popular BAP labels. The PowerG and PowerM labels are 56% and 62% smaller, respectively, than their previous incarnations, but have not suffered any performance loss in it the shrinking process.

The two BAP labels were originally released in April of 2008 with specific applications in mind. The PowerG label was designed for general asset tracking such as pallets, and the PowerM was designed for tracking metal assets. After the devices were released, customers found other possible uses for them which would required smaller dimensions, and PowerID responded accordingly. For instance, the smaller version of the PowerM label can used for tracking a laptop, with a read range of up to 40 meters.

The pressure sensitive labels are EPCglobal Class 1, Generation 2-compliant. The labels are available now for high volume purchases. [end]
