Impinj lays off 23, cuts expenses

Friday, March 27, 2009

Seattle-based RFID provid Impinj laid off 23 employees last Thursday as a result of the general worldwide economic downturn. The company has also begun making cuts in the number of contract workers it employs, as well as other unspecified cuts in expenses.

Ten employees in Seattle were eliminated, with the other lost jobs scattered throughout other U.S. locations, Europe, and Asia. Last year, Impinj eliminated six jobs during its acquisition of Intel’s RFID division. The company did not provide a current number of employees on the payroll.
