Pennsylvania water park takes the plunge with BAI

Friday, March 20, 2009

Split Rock Resort and Golf Club has announced the selection of Batronics America Inc. (BAI) to supply an RFID-enabled cashless payment solution for the resort’s 6-month-old H2Oooohh Family Indoor Waterpark.

BAI will deploy its Proximities RFID solution at the onomatopoetically-named water park. The solution is based on secure RFID wristbands, and includes such features as cashless payment, access control, wireless POS, driver’s license-based age verification, and thermal people counting.

Each wristband is linked to a guest’s credit or debit card, or a prepaid stored value, and guests can get real time expenditure reports by swiping their wristbands at account management stations in the park.

Additional features of the system which seem well-suited for family-oriented venues such as the water park are the abilities to set parent/child links, spending limits, and default gratuities. The system also has a disabling feature which renders wristbands inactive when they leave the park grounds.

BAI is a subsidiary of Batronics India Ltd. [end]
