The firm plans to use the new funds to accelerate product and business development activities, with a focus on supply chain logistics solutions in the government, aerospace and defense, and industrial production markets. On the strength of its 40 percent growth in revenues in 2007 and 2008, GlobeRanger was recently named the fifth fastest-growing technology company in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (which itself has been pointed to as a center of RFID development) by the Metropolitan Technology Business Council, a local business organization.

The funding comes from previous backers Sevin Rosen Funds and CenterPoint Ventures, as well as several new investors.
