For the event, UPM Raflatac inlays were used to create RFID-enabled plastic ID cards for all attendees, including press, athletes and invited VIPs, authorities and operators, along with an RFID-enabled pass system for all vehicles. The cards and vehicle passes were created by Italian access control specialists Alfi, who also provided system integration services. The passes were scanned using handheld readers furnished by wireless solutions specialist Brightpoint.

UPM Raflatac has previously provided similar service for the women’s version of the Alpine Ski World Cup, providing inlays for an access control solution for a women’s ski event last year. Alfi and Brightpoint also worked on that event, collaborating on the access control system, while Italian firm La Modulistica converted the inlays into ID cards and passes.
