Daily RFID releases hygienic animal tag

Monday, February 23, 2009 in News

Daily RFID has introduced a new RFID tag series for livestock tracking applications. The ear tags are constructed of polyurethane to decrease the chance of infection in tagged animals.

A recent report on RFID-enabled livestock tracking released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture emphasized the importance of guarding against infection when tracking systems using ear tags are deployed. It is difficult for infection-causing bacteria to grow on polyurethane.

The passive, LF RFID Animal ear Tags from Daily RFID are suitable for livestock including cattle, pigs, and sheep. RFID-enabled tracking systems are used to automate livestock industry processes including feeding, immunization and disease management and breeding programs. [end]
