Daily RFID offers parking solution kit

China’s Daily RFID has unveiled a kit for RFID-enabled parking applications. The kit contains the elements needed to deploy a parking management solution for the tracking of vehicles in a parking area or gated community.

Included in the UHF RFID kit are are RFID windshield tags in both adhesive and clipping formats, a RFID reader, and necessary software. The reader included, a DL910 model, provides long read range of up to 15m, fast reading speed and multi port interfaces. [end] 

Office Depot has joined Home Depot as the second U.S. retailer to test PayPal’s point of sale payments solution, according to TG Daily.

Customers at select Office Depot stores can now make payments directly from their PayPal balance by simply punching in their mobile phone number and PayPal PIN. The solution requires only a software update at the point of sale for the merchant, and customers do not need to use a payment card, contactless fob or NFC-enabled phone to make a transaction.

Think&Go NFC, a French provider of mobile retail solutions, has announced the creation of an NFC-enabled Home Shopping system.

Designed to streamline the reordering of common consumer goods, the Home Shopping solution consists of a mobile app, a “Home Shopping board” and a Web site where consumers preferred services can be configured.

Visa and Imperial Parking Canada Corp. (Impark) are teaming up to offer Visa payWave contactless payments to 72 of its attended parking facilities across Canada.

The Canadian Parking Association has announced that the city of Ottowa, Canada is planning to upgrade its parking meters with NFC technology.

Starting early 2012, drivers will be able to pay for their parking fees with just a tap of an NFC enabled handset against the meter. The new system will also allow users to refresh their parking time via phone or Internet, rather than having to dash out to the meter.

Blackpool, a seaside town situated along England’s west coast, has installed a number of Parkeon contactless-enabled parking pay stations.

For the installation, Blackpool Council opted for the Parkeon Strada pay station terminal. This new, solar-powered terminal is equipped with contactless card readers, accepting contactless payment-enabled mobile phones and various wave and pay bank cards.
