GAO adds barrier gate to parking solution options

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Canada’s GAO RFID Inc. has introduced a heavy duty parking barrier gate designed to be integrated with its various RFID-enabled parking solutions. The gate, designed for harsh environments and medium to high traffic applications, is suitable for the unmanned management of wide traffic lanes.

Though the gate’s design is flexible to fit a variety of applications, it would typically be integrated into a system which uses GAO RFID windshield tags and either RFID readers with a built in antenna or a multi-port reader such as GAO’s 4-port RFID reader.

The barrier gate, GAO product number GAO410004, includes pedestrian and vehicle safety measures, enabling it to function safely in unmanned situations. It can control access to vehicle lanes between 10 and 20 feet wide, and depending on the length of the arm, can fully open in as little one to four seconds. [end]
