Alcatel-Lucent’s tikitag system, an RFID-enabled solution that offers a way to link offline objects to the digital world, has had a name change. Now called touchatag, the rebranding brings with it a number of enhancements, including new business solutions, 2D bar code support, and extended API service.
The enhanced offerings of the touchatag system seem geared towards expanding its accessibility in a growing market. Among the newly introduced business solutions are an application for electronic value transactions, such as loyalty programs, and a mobile workforce solution, which enables one-touch service registration and information access while on the move.
