UPM Raflatac unveils NFC RFID tag

Finnish RFID developer UPM Raflatac has introduced the RaceTrack NFC, a which uses NXP’s Mifare UL C integrated circuit, and is designed for a variety of NFC and ticketing applications.

The RaceTrack NFC tag offers a 1536-bit programmable read-only memory which is electronically erasable. It is ISO 14443A compliant, and offers both 3DES authentication and cloning protection. Though it features the Mifare UL C circuit, RaceTrack NFC is also compatible in applications using tags with earlier generation versions of NXP’s Mifare integrated circuits. [end] 

CEITEC S.A. announced the final development of its integrated circuit for supply chain and manufacturing tracking: the CTC13000.

The CTC13000 offers a versatile, passive RFID chip the supports multiple logistic applications for asset tracking, from prototyping to final assembly, as well as inventory control and post-production. It can also be applied in end user applications such as airline baggage, grocery and medical assets.

Sony has revealed its new NFC-enabled Xperia S smart phone at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, according to ITProPortal.

The inaugural handset in Sony’s new line of NXT smart phones (as in “NeXT” generation), the Xperia S features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12MP camera, HDMI connection, 32GB of internal flash storage space and a 4.3-inch 720 x 1280 pixel display in addition to NFC.

William Frick and Company announced the development its new RFID-enabled floor tags for improved warehouse operations.

Tough enough to drive over with a forklift, the Frick floor tags mark a location in a warehouse or distribution facility to automatic data collection and inventory control. The permanent 3M adhesive binds to most object, including low surface energy coatings, paints and concrete.
