GAO Tek launches beaconing tag

Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in News

GAO Tek Inc., a member of Canada’ GAO Group, has launched an active RFID tag with a beaconing function designed for use in asset locating and tracking solutions and warehouse management systems.

The new 2.4 GHz tag (GAO 127005) features a built-in LED. When the receives a specific signal from a nearby reader, the LED flashes, making it easy to visually locate the item to which the tag is attached. The tag has a read distance of up to 30 meters, and its replaceable battery has tested life of one year.

In addition, the tag is tamper-proof, with a push-in button built in to the bottom of the tag. If an attempt is made to dislodge the tag, the button is triggered and an alarm will sound. [end]
