Exhibitors at a recent medical conference in Chicago were able to use RFID to identify potential customers, thanks to a two-tiered deployment of RFID applications by Alliance Tech. Applications deployed by the Austin-based events solutions provider enabled organizers of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference to track attendees, then provided insights about the attendees to the staff of the Carestream Health booth on the conference floor.
For the past two years, organizers of the RSNA, the largest annual medical industry event in the U.S., worked with Alliance Tech to incorporate RFID technology into the management of the event. At the 2007 conference held in early December, Alliance Tech worked with partner Experient to deploy solutions which enabled RSNA organizers to track and evaluate attendee interests and booth participation from the 60,000 show participants.
In a secondary deployment of the technology, Alliance Tech then enabled exhibitors like Carestream, a medical and dental imaging systems and information technology provider, to capture information about interested attendees as they visited the Carestream booth. Alliance Tech readers installed in the booth key were able to instantly provide demographics about an attendee stopping at the booth, including job function, title and organization.
The information enabled Carestream staff to more effectively qualify potential customer leads; in fact, when the characteristics of a particularly qualified lead were detected, the Alliance Tech solution alerted booth staffers via cell phone, so that they could respond quickly with more targeted customer service. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/rfidnews-4.gif)
