Sirit reader get European certification

Monday, November 17, 2008

Sirit Inc. has announced that its IDentity 5100 reader has been certified by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). The certification opens up European markets for the company’s automatic vehicle identification (AVI) solutions which use the readers as a key component.

The new IDentity 5100 ETSI version is suitable for long-range, high speed applications where vehicles may travel at speeds up to 100 MPH. It has also been designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, temperatures, humidity and vibration.

With the ETSI certification, Sirit can now pursue the European market for AVI applications including vehicle registration, vehicle emissions validation, insurance compliance, electronic tolling, and parking or access control.

Sirit announced the certification during the ITS World Congress show in New York City on Monday. [end]
