SkyRFID launches new line of ceramic tags

SkyRFID Inc. has announced a range of ceramic RFID inlay tags intended for mounting on or in metal. The new line, which consists of eight different UHF Gen 2 tags, offers read ranges from two meters to more than six meters, and temperature ranges of up to 200 °C.

Among the new offerings is a 5.5 mm x 9 mm x 3 mm tag that can be fastened to a metal object using the attached self-adhesive tape strip on the back of the tag. This tag, the smallest of the new line, has a read distance of two meters and handles temperatures from -40° C through 150°C.

Also part of the new line is a “mount in metal” high temperature tag, with a form factor of 21 mm X 17 mm x 2 mm and a temperature tolerance of up to 200°C or 392 °F. It provides a read distance of up to one meter and is intended for applications including metallic mould management, asset management and product identification. [end] 

HID Global unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio of RFID tags, with the announcement of the IronTag 176 ultra-high frequency (UHF) transponder.

This durable tag is suited for tracking a variety of metal parts and equipment. Originally designed for tracking aircraft parts during assembly and maintenance, the IronTag endures the harsh conditions of manufacturing and processing as well as vehicle and equipment operation.

Hong-Kong’s Advanced Card Systems (ACS) has announced the latest addition to its line of LCD-equipped NFC readers for payments and loyalty, the ACR1222L.

Successor to the ACR122L, the new reader is based on 13.56 MHz RFID technology and ISO 18092 NFC standard, and supports ISO 14443 Type A and B Mifare cards in addition to FeliCa and all 4 types of NFC tags, according to ACS.
