MIKOH announces deal with unnamed government agency

Monday, October 20, 2008

MIKOH Corporation has announced the completion of an order from an unnamed U.S. government agency for the company’s SecureContainer closure devices designed for ruggedized cases produced by Pelican Products Inc. The order is the company’s second from the anonymous government agency. The initial order was announced in July of 2007, for a trial shipment of Smart&Secure seals to be tested in a variety of government agency applications.

MIKOH’S SecureContainer closure incorporates intellectual property from the U.S. National Security Agency to provide a unique closing system that mitigates risk by detecting unauthorized entry to Pelican cases already in use by the government agency. The Smart&Secure seal offers certain evidence if it has been compromised in order to tamper with the Pelican case.

MIKOH, headquartered in McLean, Va., provides physical security and digital marking solutions and consulting services. The Smart&Secure tamper-evident technology provides physical security certainty for RFID tags in a variety of applications, including government asset tracking, vehicle identification, and pharmaceutical distribution, and can be integrated into any RFID system.

“MIKOH’s SecureContainer closure device provides certainty that containers used to store and transport equipment, documents, evidence, weapons and other sensitive materials are uncompromised,” says Matthew Blomfield, managing director and CEO for MIKOH Corporation. “MIKOH works closely with government organizations to ensure that each solution and application meets the critical physical security requirements associated with their high value assets.” [end]
