Advanced ID predicts sales growth in China

Advanced ID, a provider of RFID solutions in supply chain management and livestock and pet tracking, predicts its acquisition of a Chinese RFID producer will lead to previously unexpected revenues in the fourth quarter this year.

Advanced ID recently acquired Shenzhen DDCT Technology Co. Ltd in China. The Chinese developer of RFID readers and modules was in the process of negotiating a number of orders at the time of its purchase, and had already entered into several contracts. According to Advanced ID president and CEO Dan Finch, these projects have been confirmed to begin before the end of 2008, and should add significantly to Advanced ID’s revenues for the year. [end] 

Global Industry Analysts Inc. released a report forecasting the outlook on the global smart card market to reach 10.9 billion units by 2015.

GIA credits the growth driven largely by major initiatives in the financial, government and security sectors, with the telecom sector at the way ahead of the pack as the largest end-user. Increasing usage of contactless technology, newer applications and mandatory EMV migration across countries are also major drivers boosting the global market for smart cards.
