New GAO reader scans 2000 tags at once

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in News

Canada-based GAO RFID has released its new UHF reader series, the GAO 227004, a family of long-range interrogators designed for use in wireless applications including identification, tracking and tracing and locating assets and personnel.

The readers feature an adjustable output power which can adjust the read/write range up to 100 meters, and the scanners can identify up to 2,000 tags simultaneously. A high transmission rate also allows the devices to communicate with rapidly moving tags.

Also incorporated in GAO’s new design is the i-BUS (RS 422 or RS 485) which permits daisy-chaining of several readers to a host interface and requires just one connection to to a power supply and for data transmission. [end]
