Mojix expands eNode product family

Mojix Inc., a recent RFID start-up headquartered in Los Angeles, has announced the expansion of its eNode family of EPC RFID transmitters. The company calls the transmitters the fundamental building blocks of the its STAR system, which the company launched in April of this year as a method to enhance the range of low-cost passive RFID tags.


The new additions to the eNode line include a series of wireless Mojix eNodes for mobile, handheld and outdoor use cases, and a multiple port Mojix eNode for enabling more economical tag interrogation spaces. The new offerings are intended to offer greater flexibility in delivering energy to passive RFID tags in a variety of applications, and reduce the total cost of ownership of RFID-enabled portals, dock doors, racks or other EPC RFID tag interrogation spaces.

The Mojix eNode family is designed to provide input and output ports as a conduit from a variety of sensors to the STAR system, enabling the STAR receiver to gather data on the physical environment as well as tag data. A variety of sensor types are supported including electromagnetic, temperature, motion, condensation and luminosity. The system also offers a variety of power options, including including battery, DC converter, solar cell and automotive battery. [end] 

IBM and Mojix announced a distribution agreement and the launch of the Mojix STAR system in Japan.

Under the arrangement IBM will provide system integration services and customer support for Mojix product offerings in the Japanese market. IBM Japan will distribute the Mojix STAR system both directly to its customers as well as through qualified IBM resellers in Japan.
