USAF extends Shipcom contract

Thursday, October 9, 2008 in News

Shipcom Wireless has announced an extension of its contract with the U.S. Air Force’s Surgeon General’s Office. The software provider’s contract involves a review of the current uses of RFID across the Air Force Medical Service.

Originally, the contract focused on a baseline assessment of clinical and business processes at the USAF’s Keesler Medical Center using Shipcom’s Hospital Operational & Clinical Assessment Model software, followed by recommendations on how the Air Force could best use RFID and related technologies to improve efficiency and patient care.

With the contract extension, Shipcom will also create and implement specific RFID solutions for the Keesler Medical Center using its x/Care suite of health care applications, including the patient care module and the asset management module.

Texas-based Shipcom Wireless was founded in 1997. The company provides integrated supply chain execution software solutions which focus on the RFID and enterprise mobility markets. [end]
