ODIN Technologies awarded Army contract
ODIN Technologies has been selected as the prime contractor for a $75 million U.S. military contract. The Passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) contract was awarded by the US Army’s Product Manager Joint-Automatic Identification Technology Office for total AIT and RFID.
Under the terms of the contract, ODIN will work with its partners SRA, Unisys, KTS Solutions, Intermec, Zebra, Sirit, OAT Systems and IBM to offer complete solutions to the joint services. The deal is termed as an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
“The Department of Defense is setting their sights on nothing short of the most efficient supply chain in support of the warfighter….” says Patrick J. Sweeney II of ODIN technologies. “The new pRFID contract from PM J-AIT provides acquisition support and technical expertise for Joint Services, Federal agencies, NATO, and multi-national forces on a vehicle that makes procurement easy. It’s one-stop-shopping for passive RFID.”
The selection of ODIN, with its roster of partners, may streamline the military’s purchasing process for passive RFID solutions. ODIN’s team of contractors should be able to provide turn-key pRFID solutions, including all component hardware, software, and services, on demand. There has also been early interest expressed in using this contract to build upon the infrastructure ODIN has installed for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at Defense Distribution Centers across the United States, as well as to support specific projects in all branches of the military. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/rfidnews-4.gif)
