Metalcraft introduces enhanced windshield tag

Thursday, September 11, 2008 in News

Iowa-based Metalcraft, a specialist in property identification solutions, has launched a series of five RFID labels with expanded memory capabilities, including a windshield tag with a 512-bit memory.

Metalcraft’s new RFID Windshield Tag features a 512-bit memory incorporated in a passive KSW Windshield RFID inlay. The 4-inch by 1-inch adhesive label provides a read range over 18 feet and does not require a foam standoff. Metalcraft also uses a windshield-compatible adhesive protects against the harmful UV rays.

The four other new RFID products from Metalcraft also incorporate 512-bit, passive, Gen 2 inlays from producers including KSW, Alien, and Avery Dennison. All of the expanded memory products use standard Metalcraft constructions which encapsulate the inlay between thin layers of polypropylene, with a bar code and human readable information included on the non-adhesive side. The encapsulation process protects the inlay and reduces the effects of electrostatic discharge. [end]
