iDTRONIC to premiere new system at RFID World

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

RFID hardware supplier iDTRONIC has announced it will showcase its new active RFID system, Active NOW, at the RFID World conference this month in Las Vegas.

The new system is designed to support a broad range of RFID applications and solutions, while being easy to integrate into existing networks. Component of the Active NOW system include a WiFi controller and range expander, as well as the 2.45 GHz Active NOW Tag Controller, which includes an antenna which provides a communications range of up to 60m. The tag controller is available in serial and WiFi versions.

The Active NOW system has three versions of 2.45GHz active tags, a read-only tag, a motion sensor and a temperature sensor tag. All three versions offer IP65 humidity protection and reliable RF transmission capabilities.

The new iDTRONIC system also offers a specific middleware called Active Now EdgeWare for applications with multiple controllers, allowing easy integration of multiple units with a single centralized database. The Active Now EdgeWare uses a layered architecture including a Java controller driver, a filter queue, the filtering framework, the destination queue and the dispatching framework. [end]
