PeakWorks adds RFID to fall protection gear

Thursday, August 28, 2008

PeakWorks, a provider of personal protection gear such as safety harnesses, has announced it will use N4 System’s Field ID network to provide traceability for its line of fall protection gear. The system uses RFID tags and associated technology and software to increase traceability of safety equipment for distributors, customers, and safety inspectors

“Fall protection equipment is highly regulated because of the high profile of risk associated with aerial work. There is a huge amount of paperwork that must be created to ensure a harness is safe and compliant with safety regulations,” says Somen Mondal, CEO of N4 Systems. “By joining the Field ID Safety Network, PeakWorks Inc. will empower their customers with the tools required to electronically manage their inspections and safety compliance, completely paper free.”

Over the next few months, PeakWorks plans to label all equipment with RFID tags and register each piece in the Field ID Safety Network. [end]
