Checkpoint acquires OATSystems

Checkpoint Systems Inc. has announced it will acquire OATSystems Inc. in an all-cash transaction. Checkpoint Systems plans to operate OATSystems as a division of its company, continuing to use and develop the OATSystems brand and software platform while also retaining the company’s senior management. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.


OATSystems provides software solutions for an international client base in the retail, consumer products, consumer electronics, manufacturing, aerospace and defense industries. The two companies offer complementary merchandise protection and inventory management applications

StarChip and CEA-Leti have inked a partnership agreement to develop a contactless front end for smart card applications.

The partnership includes technology and know-how transfer to StarChip. With this combined experience in secure integrated circuit development and contactless technology, StarChip will roll out state-of-the-art smart card products to enable applications in transport, banking and identity.

Zebra and Checkpoint Systems have entered into a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement. While the exact terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the relationship does bring together Zebra’s active location solutions with Checkpoint division OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-ID and sensor capabilities.
