Radio Frequency Identification Technology for Logistics, Tagging and EPC

McLane Advanced Technologies buys RFID Systems Inc.

Texas-based McLane Advanced Technologies LLC (MAT) has announced its purchase of another Texas firm, the software company RFID Systems Inc.

MAT, a provider of information technology and logistics services to government and commercial customers, has not disclosed the terms of the sale, beyond a plan to move all of RFID Systems operations to its Temple, Texas, headquarters.


RFID Systems Inc., which previously has operated as a part of Fusion Labs, creates logistics and distribution software solutions focusing on customer relationship management, supply chain management, warehouse management, and enterprise resource management, using a single open and flexible platform.

A representative of MAT indicated that the addition of RFID Systems’ software packages to the company’s product line has the potential to increase sales by a third. [end] 

NEC Corporation has developed a new cloud security service that implements advanced authentication capabilities from CA Technologies.

NEC combined the CA ArcotID software credential with its NC7000-3A ID utilization infrastructure and NEC Mobile Security security countermeasure product to offer authentication services in the cloud through identity links found on multiple NEC websites. The CA ArcotID product offers integrated two-factor authentication and can be used on smart phones and tablets.

Zebra and Checkpoint Systems have entered into a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement. While the exact terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the relationship does bring together Zebra’s active location solutions with Checkpoint division OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-ID and sensor capabilities.
