Rfidium launches Leprechaun tag

Thursday, August 14, 2008 in News

Antenna inlay provider Rfidium has announced the availability of the “Leprechaun,” a new RFID tag designed specifically for box and pallet tagging on cardboard boxes or polymeric containers. The tag is intended for inventory and trace-back tracking of a variety of food and beverage, pharmaceutical and commodity applications.

The new tag has a read range of over 4.2 meters in free-space propagation and is compliant to ASTM D 4169, Loose Cargo, Commercial Temperature and Vibration Levels. Also, the Leprechaun is an aluminum antenna inlay, complying with strict WEEE and RoHS environmental requirements, helping to minimize environmental impact for customers focusing on green operations.

The Leprechaun is designed to work with a wide variety of packaging types and package contents. Despite a small footprint, greater amounts of metal area make it less susceptible to influence by the materials being tracked; for example, pots of gold. [end]
