Kiland chooses AAID for RFID solutions

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Kiland Business Management Systems, a software developer, has selected AAID Security Solutions, a manufacturer and distributor of long-range RFID products, to provide them with AAID’s Ultra Long Range Radio Frequency Identification tags and readers for creating real-time inventory awareness and identifying assets.

Once implemented, the RFID tagged inventory will be detected by the passive readers from up to a 1,000 ft. range in Kiland’s facilities. The data from the readers will be sent to Kiland’s software management system Ktrack. Additionally, if Kiland chooses to add Wi-Fi to the passive readers, the range goes beyond 1,000 ft. and would be able to connect to customers’ local area networks. This new system is expected to reduce Kiland’s labor and inventory costs while also improving inventory and assets accountability.

While the system is setup to provide the Ktrack spftware with alerts when pieces of inventory are moving in and out of each readers’ zone, it also can tell which employee is moving it. By outfitting each employee with an RFID badge, they too are being tracked by AAID’s passive readers. [end]
