Responding to growing demand for battery assisted passive RFID products, Israeli RFID producer PowerID has announced partnerships with two Asia-based manufacturers. The partnerships will enable PowerID to step up production of its BAP EPCglobal Class 1, Generation 2 labels

BAP labels are designed to track materials such as liquids, metal, and paper, which can affect the reliability of traditional RFID technologies. PowerID’s products are designed to combine the performance and reliability of a BAP label with support for standards-based Gen 2 RFID readers. The labels operate in the UHF range (850-960MHz).
