Xerox picks ID Systems for forklifts

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Xerox has selected I.D. Systems to provide wireless management for a fleet of forklifts at its Ohio distribution center. Xerox will use I.D. Systems’ PowerKeyPLUS wireless industrial vehicle monitoring system, which uses RFID-based technology to provide vehicle access control, safety checklists and impact sensing.

PowerKeyPLUS also serves as a platform for expansion to I.D. Systems’ Wireless Asset Net fleet management technology. This system reduces fleet maintenance costs by automatically uploading vehicle data, reporting vehicle problems electronically, scheduling maintenance based on actual vehicle usage rather calendar-driven schedules, and helping determine the optimal time to replace equipment.

The order was facilitated by Hy-Tek Material Handling, a national provider of integrated systems solutions and an Ohio-based dealer of Yale industrial lift trucks. [end]
