Wavetrend to install Israeli health care project

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

UK-based Wavetrend Technologies has announced that it will begin installation of an RFID project for Israel’s new Ashdod Medical. Wavetrend will work with Israeli systems integrator Ardan Control on the project, which will be the largest active RFID installation in the Middle East.

The project will enable full RFID coverage for all six operational floors of the medical facility in order to achieve the best possible monitoring of equipment, personnel and high-risk patients. Readers will be strategically positioned throughout the hospital, and an extensive array of tags designed to track multiple assets will be deployed.

The real-time tracking capabilities that the system offers will enable the hospital to locate critical equipment and personnel in the event of an emergency, and also monitor the whereabouts of high-risk patients so that medical staff can react to an alert immediately.

The system’s software has an open architecture design for easy integration with other hospital software applications. Medical staff will be access information from any computer within the facility based on predetermined authorization levels. [end]
