Stuck on RFID

Friday, May 16, 2008 in News

It’s an unfortunate fact that all the advantages of RFID tracking systems are lost if the tags fall off. Dymax Corporation, a maker of adhesives and curing systems, is now offering a solution to the dilemma with a new adhesive process designed specifically for the harsh and variable environments RFID tags can face.

Dymax’s 4-20418-VT Ultra Light-Weld adhesive system is used to apply opaque RFID tags to light-transmissible spacers that are then affixed to metals or a variety of plastics to achieve a difficult-to-remove bond. The system is environmentally friendly and portable, and can be used easily by warehouse or office personnel.

The bonds created by the system have been proven to withstand the temperature fluctuations tagged items can be exposed to during warehouse storage and shipping. [end]
