Bartonics India Ltd. is planning an expansion into the European smart card market. Since the country has primarily been involved in Asian projects, to get a foothold in the continent, the company hopes to acquire an established player in Europe sometime in 2008.

“We won’t enter without acquiring an established company, which has reputed clients,” said Sudhir Rao, managing director and chief executive officer of Batronics. Once in the market, the company will pair its RFID expertise with smart card technology sourced from other European producers.
