Luxury cars protected by RFID

Friday, April 25, 2008 in News

Ship2Save, a Canadian RFID systems integrator, has developed a new way to protect luxury cars from theft in a place where one might assume they are safest: their dealerships.

The company’s new RFID key cabinet solution provides quick key authentication at vulnerable times, such as when a key is returned from a test drive. If the key has been counterfeited, allowing a would-be thief to retain the real key, the system alerts the dealership.

The system also uses Ship2Save’s own Operation Management System and Microsoft’s BizTalk Server RFID to enhance the dealership’s inventory and asset management operations. [end]
