Aberdeen Group talks up RFID for retailers

Friday, April 25, 2008 in News

Market research firm the Aberdeen Group, a subsidiary of the Harte-Hanks Company, has a new study exploring application of RFID technology for retail uses.

The study looked at 150 companies in the retail industry during February and March of 2008, and identified a great number of success stories. Among the companies Aberdeen Group labeled “Best-in-Class” for their RFID implementation, all reported substantial improvement in customer satisfaction, employee productivity, and inventory management.

The report also shows that misperceptions about RFID persist among non-users. According to the research, 53% of non-adopters still believe that RFID has not matured sufficiently to prove its ROI.
