InkSure To Educate on Chipless RFID at Boston Conference

InkSure Technologies Inc., a leading provider of covert machine-readable security solutions (“CMRT”) for the detection of counterfeiting, fraud and diversion announced it has been selected to present a technology update on its patented SARcode(TM), a new “chipless” symbology for low-cost RFID applications at the RFID Smart Labels USA 2008 Conference in Boston.

The Conference, which is being held at the Marriott Copley, runs from February 19th through February 22nd and is sponsored by IDTechEx, an independent consultancy on RFID and printed electronics. More than 600 delegates from 30 countries are expected to attend.

InkSure will be presenting on February 21st in the Chipless & Printed RFID session as well as exhibiting their new technology throughout the two day conference sessions.

Global communications agency Isobar has announced the winners of Create 32, Silicon Valley’s first hackathon exploring NFC technology on commercially available smart phones.

The event, held at APPNATION III from November 30 - December 1, 2011, attracted more than 40 developers and creators to develop new uses for NFC technology and produced seven working prototypes of applications in 32 hours. Each app was critiqued by a panel of NFC experts from Nokia, Google, eBay-PayPal et al. on its ability to impact a brand, business or consumer, its potential viability and its ability to change the way users experience the world.

GlobalPlatform announced that it will hold a two-day card specification training session March 1-2 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Nokia is launching a campaign to educate consumers in the United Arab Emirates on the benefits of using NFC technology in mobile devices.

The first of its kind in the UAE, the campaign will kick off with the installation of NFC-enabled posters at the VOX cinema in the Mall of the Emirates from Thursday to Saturday. All Nokia N9 smart phone users will be able to tap the posters to receive free cinema tickets, refreshments and the latest movie schedules from VOX cinema, according to Nokia.

The John Natsoulas Center for the Arts in Davis, Calif. is using NFC technology to provide resident with a unique art viewing experience.

The JNCA has teamed up with XtremeSignPost founder Monto H. Kumagai to embed sculptures from renowned artist Finely Fryer with NFC tags. On Feb. 17, ten of these sculptures will be unveiled throughout downtown Davis, enabling residents with NFC-enabled phones to receive audio information about each work of art with a simple tap.

Boston-based Revosys has announced that it will implement NFC payment processing in its upcoming “Interactive V5 In-Taxi” advertising system.

According to Revosys, the upgraded Interactive V5 will allow passengers to pay for fares with NFC-enabled mobile phones, contactless credit and debit cards, and traditional magnetic stripe cards.
