Precision Dynamics to Offer Insight on RFID

Once a pioneer for a burgeoning area of RFID, Precision Dynamics Corporation will moderate a panel of Waterpark and Hotel industry experts with a session entitled: “RFID: Increasing Revenue, Increasing Profits While Increasing Customer Satisfaction” on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, from 1-2 p.m. at the 27th Annual World Waterpark Association (WWA) Trade Show and Symposium in Palm Springs, Calif.

This session will provide WWA attendees educational and useful information on RFID technology, according to a news release. The company bills itself “the global leader in automatic wristband identification.” [end] 

Easylube has introduced an automated electromechanical gearset using integrated RFID technology to track and manage lube points throughout a plant.

Each lubricator also features a bi-color LED warning light, replaceable grease cup, RFID tag and reader to enable real-time tracking of bearings. The RFID reader serves as a wireless data collector, reading Easylube RFID tags that are placed on each lubrication point and transmitting the lubrication status to a handheld PDA. Exact regreasing volumes and intervals are calculated using minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) formulation.

NEC Corporation has developed a new cloud security service that implements advanced authentication capabilities from CA Technologies.

NEC combined the CA ArcotID software credential with its NC7000-3A ID utilization infrastructure and NEC Mobile Security security countermeasure product to offer authentication services in the cloud through identity links found on multiple NEC websites. The CA ArcotID product offers integrated two-factor authentication and can be used on smart phones and tablets.

Payment card manufacturer Dynamics Inc. has purchased a state-of-the-art facility in the Pittsburgh area that will serve as its world headquarters.

The 115,000 square foot facility will contain approximately 100,000 square feet of conditioned clean room engineering and manufacturing space. Dynamics plans to configure part of the space to be able to offer card issuers personalization of its next-generation magnetic stripe cards under the Visa, MasterCard and American Express networks. The building will also contain Dynamics’ administrative and R&D departments.

AOptix Technologies announced that SITA, a specialist in air transport communications and information technology, has joined the AOptix Value Added Reseller program.

Under the partnership, SITA, who has customers in more than 200 countries which includes 300 airport locations, would be able to offer its customers AOptix solutions. These offerings include the InSight iris and face recognition product as an automated solution for airports to quickly and securely identify passengers at security checkpoints with documents such as biometric-enabled passports.
