Vector Capital to Acquire Printronix

Thursday, October 4, 2007 in News

Helping the enterprise-level RFID printing company Printronix “navigate complex situations,” San Francisco-based private equity buyer Vector Capital will acquire the company.

The announcement, made yesterday, follows the signing of an agreement between the two companies.

As Motley Fool puts it:

Printronix has tried to find growth in new segments, such as with RFID smart labels, which make inventory tracking easier. The company has formed relationships with various Wal-Mart suppliers, but it hasn’t been enough. The RFID market is still in its early stages.

The publication also notes that Zebra Technologies sells at about 2.9 times Printronix’s revenues. [end]
