RFID, LTD. Signs Contract to Battle $7.2 Billion Annual Loss in Liquor Industry

DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Leading radio frequency technology company RFID, LTD. (OTC:RFDL) today announced entering into an agreement with Northern California based Capton, Inc. the leading provider of RFID solutions for the hospitality industry and BlueStar, one of two leading distributors of point-of-sale and RFID products.

Capton’s beverage tracker will help prevent losses from bartenders “overpouring” drinks or selling drinks for cash and pocketing the money.

“RFID, LTD. Sales Director announced that the sales division will market and sell Capton’s signature Beverage Tracker solution to hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, bars, resorts, casinos, cruise lines, sports stadiums and many other types of hospitality venues across the United States and world wide,” says Betty Chavez, RFID, LTD. CEO. “We are very excited about Capton’s Beverage Tracker and believe that this RFID solution is the answer to managing and controlling liquor inventory.”

Beverage Tracker solution takes advantage of RFID technology and imbeds a micro chip into a liquor pour spout. Via this technology, managers can monitor exactly what is being poured, spot unacceptable pouring behavior and produce reports which show what specific pours occurred outside of standard or without a corresponding Point of Sale (POS) button push. In addition, managers and staff can produce brand consumption reports which are utilized to provide real-time visibility into inventory position for more effective inventory ordering and control of disappearing bottles. Beverage Tracker is also used in banquet operations to produce customer invoices detailing exact pouring records recorded during catering events, thereby dramatically reducing customer contention of liquor invoices and controlling liquor costs.

Capton conducted over 25 pilot projects with major U.S. companies in every spectrum of hospitality (hotels, resorts, casinos, chain restaurants, cruise lines, stadiums, nightclubs and convention centers). The results from those pilots were liquor cost run rate reductions of between 4 to 10 percentage points and revenue increases of 10% on average. The typical return on investment (ROI) profile was less than six months. [end]

RFID technology is picking up speed and becoming a fundamental solution for managing waste and recycling industries, reports Recycling Today.

Recycling carts tagged with RFID working together with equipped readers installed on collection trucks enable cities, municipalities and private waste haulers to manage important data as each cart is collected. The haulers can track information such as location, pickup time and the weight of the material collected.
