Radio Frequency Identification Technology for Logistics, Tagging and EPC

Datamars' New Bundle Reader System to Debut at Clean Show June 11-14

Thursday, May 31, 2007

Datamars’ new Bundle reader system uses RFID technology to identify garments regardless of transponder orientation, which is sometimes skewed during processing and while garments are in motion.

It’s compact and easily integrates with existing conveyor systems. Datamars high frequency (HF) Laundry Chip technology is fully ISO15693 compatible.

RFID Bundle Reader: New Datamars Bundle Reader To Be Introduced At The Clean Show ‘07 5/31/2007

Datamars recently announced its new Bundle reader system featuring breakthrough RFID technology, which will debut at the Clean Show (booth #3267), June 11-14, Las Vegas, Nev. It provides unprecedented tracking efficiency that virtually eliminates lost garments and shortages. This is something that bar code technology cannot do.

The Bundle reader system allows industrial launderers to account for each and every garment as it is bundled before it enters the final shipment area. More importantly, they can assure that the correct garments are bundled before being sent to their customers. With a read/verification from single to continuous flow or complete bundles of approximately 15 garments per second, the new bundle reader system provides industrial launderers a level of service and accountability never before possible.

“We’re enthusiastic about the new capabilities but even more excited about what it can do for industrial launderers and their customers,” says Ken Boyle, president of Datamars North America. “Now, industrial launderers can account for many more garments with little human intervention, permitting them to dramatically reduce costs.”

The Datamars RFID technology can identify a garment regardless of transponder orientation, which is often skewed during processing and while the garments are in motion. That means the Laundry ChipTM can identify a garment anywhere in the process including sorting and while moving through the rail system—without human intervention. With conventional barcodes, it’s difficult, if not impossible, to read these garments.

The new Datamars bundle reader system is compact and easily integrates with existing conveyor systems. Datamars high frequency (HF) Laundry Chip technology is fully ISO15693 compatible. The system includes hardware, RF Tracker software and professional services for systems integration.
