EPCIS Ratification Announcement Bigger Than Gen2
EPCglobal today announced the ratification of the Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS), RFID Update reports.
The product code is a secure, real-time standard for data sharing among trusted organizations.
“With the EPCIS industry standard, the technology supporting visibility into the movement and whereabouts of goods and services is coming of age,” said Chris Adcock, president of EPCglobal Inc., in a press release statement. “In terms of industry significance, I believe that the EPCIS standard may have much more of a transformational impact on the industry than the [2004] release of the UHF Gen2 Passive RFID standard.” ![[end]](/resources/bullet/rfidnews-4.gif)
