DHL Backs Off RFID Plans ... But Makes an Appearance at RFID World Conference

“We shouldn’t have put a stake in the ground,” said Bob Berg, DHL’s senior program manager for RFID, said in an interview to InformationWeek and others following his presentation Tuesday morning at the RFID Conference in Dallas.

Berg, speaking about the shipping gian’ts original plans to put RFID tags on every package by 2015, said the company plans to instead take a more measured approach to implementation.

Meaning, one without a timetable – not done “on a lark,” as Berg put it to reporters attending the conference. [end]
