RFID Solutions: SkyeTek Signs Resellers To Serve Large RFID Markets In Europe 3/20/2007

SkyeTek, Inc., the provider of embedded RFID reader technology, recently announced the addition of three value added resellers that will provide significant sales, systems integration, and support presence across Europe. TDC, AVE, and IAData will provide SkyeTek with sales and service support in the United Kingdom/Ireland, the Benelux, and Nordic countries respectively. These partners each carry SkyeTek’s full line of HF and UHF reader modules and ReaderWare software.

“The European RFID market has been thriving in business applications such as transport and logistics, access control, medicine and supply chain management,” stated Rob Balgley, CEO of SkyeTek. “Now, RFID-enabled devices are set to pervade such applications as item-level inventory, patron management, contactless payment, and product authentication. Because our architecture is frequency-agnostic, systems integrators and value added resellers can focus and specialize on one common RFID reader platform, which speeds time-to-market and increases sales efficiency.”

TDC, SkyeTek’s selected reseller for the United Kingdom and Ireland, supplies electronic component and module solutions to manufacturers of telecommunication, machine to machine, automotive and consumer electronic products. “The addition of SkyeTek sits perfectly with our wireless portfolio, and our position as the wireless specialist within the Abacus Group makes this a real win-win relationship,” said Jerry Sandys, managing Director of TDC. “SkyeTek’s revolutionary HF and UHF reader technology offers simple and secure solutions for the demands of today’s RFID market.”

SkyeTek has also selected Added Value Electronics (AVE) and IAData as value added resellers for the Benelux and Nordic countries respectively. AVE promotes professional niche electronic components and subassemblies across Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. The company’s field sales and application engineers provide customers optimal logistical and technical support. IAData sells RFID readers, tags and complete systems to companies in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

SkyeTek is excited to add these partners to its growing list of value added resellers. These companies have been selected based on their ability to help make the process of embedding RFID into customers’ products simple, cost effective, and secure.
